Für alle, die meine Musik bisher auf Spotify gehört haben, tut es mir leid, mitteilen zu müssen, dass ich meine Songs dort komplett entfernt habe und auch künftig nichts mehr auf dieser Plattform veröffentlichen werde.

Warum?
Ich habe erfahren, dass Spotify Waffengeschäfte mit rund 600 Mio € unterstützt hat. Für mich ist das moralisch nicht tragbar. Gleichzeitig zahlt Spotify im Vergleich zu allen anderen Streamingdiensten die niedrigsten Beträge pro Stream an die Künstler aus. Von den enormen Gewinnen werden also Kriege unterstützt – ohne meinen Beitrag in Zukunft.

Viele Musiker und Bands haben ihre Musik bereits entfernt, und auch zahlreiche Abonnenten wechseln zu anderen Diensten.

Falls du noch ein Spotify-Abo hast, möchte ich dich ermutigen, selbst zu forschen und darüber nachzudenken, was genau du mit deinem Beitrag unterstützt – und ob du das weiterhin tun möchtest.

Übrigens: Man kann seine gesamte Spotify-Mediathek und Playlists sehr einfach, z. B. zu Tidal, übertragen.

To those of you who used to listen to my music there, I’m sorry to say that I’ve removed all my tracks from Spotify and will not be releasing new music on that platform.

The reason is simple: I learned that Spotify has invested around €600 million in the arms industry. For me, this is morally unacceptable. On top of that, Spotify pays artists the lowest rates per stream compared to all other platforms. Huge profits are generated – and part of that money goes into supporting wars. I cannot be part of this anymore.

Many artists and bands have already removed their music from Spotify, and more and more listeners are moving to other platforms.

If you still have a Spotify subscription, I encourage you to reflect on what exactly you are supporting with your contribution – and whether you want to continue doing so.

By the way, it’s very easy to transfer all your playlists and your library from Spotify to another service, such as Tidal.
